Autumn Road

I finished my Easy Street Quilt today.  I have named it Autumn Road.  Easy Street is a Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter.  She has a Mystery Quilt on her Blog every year.  I think it starts around Thanksgiving.  And runs through the end of the year.  It was the first Mystery Quilt I have done.  And it was fun.  I'm pretty sure I will do the one coming up too.

This Quilt measures  about 98"X 98".  I'm donating to the Common Threads Quilt Guild Boutique.  I'm hoping they can get $250.00 for it.  If not, I will bring it home and either use it myself or give as a gift to someone.

The boutique is Saturday October 19
  9:00- 4:00
at the
Comfort Inn
10 N. Irwin St.
Hanford, CA

Design Class With Cindy Needham

I just spent 5 days with Cindy Needham.  Along with 2 of my Quilting Buddies,  We had a great and productive Workshop.

Here is a nice picture of Cindy, me, Barbara Sindlinger and Janice Minyard.

Here is Janice with her beautiful Creations.

Barbara finished several items.

Priscilla Girard from Springville was there.  And she was Embellishing her beautiful piece.

This is my Sampler Piece from the Thread Bar.  We got to try every kind of Superior Thread we wanted to.  All week!  It was so much fun.

The next day we started on Designing.  This was my Divide and Conquer Piece.

And finally my Design Piece.  It's not finished yet.  But hopefully I will get it done this week.  I like it a bunch.

And this last picture was of some new friends from Canada.  Mary Ann and Jeanette.  Along with Cindy.  Mary Ann was a Hoot!

We had a great time and I would love to go back to her workshop next year as an Alumni.

Visalia Dames

Today the Visalia Dames met at my house.  We always have a lot of Fun and Laughs.  And sometimes we even get something accomplished.  We were happy Diane was able to join us. Kathy, Barbara and Elaine are always ready to quilt.

My little Katie found a new friend.

And Cocoa had to join in too.

And Larry found his spot taking a nap.  If we had not of been in the Living room, he would have been in his recliner.  :) Taking a nap.

I was a great day.  I always loving quilting with the Visalia Dames.

Tulare County Fair

My Mom and Husband Larry and I went to the Tulare County Fair today.  We saw some beautiful Handmade Quilts, Crochet and Counted Cross Stitch.  I took some pictures to share.

This one is Barbara Sindlinger's Butterfly Quilt with Machine Applique.' It got a White Ribbon.  I think that is Third Place.

I don't know who made these cute Towels.  But they reminded me of my Childhood.  Embroidery is like coloring.

Diane Ruby made this Beauty.  I loved the yellow background.

I took a closeup of the Feathers.  She took my Feather Quilting Class at Thimble Towne.  And I think she quilted this after my class.  She did a great job.

This one was made by Adena Joseph.  And she got a Blue Ribbon.

Adena's mom Pat Gilcrest made this one.  Third Place.

Paula Lovett made this one.  First Place.

And here is mine.  It was entered in the Group Quilts.  And it got a Second Place.  This was the Material Girl's HST Challenge last year.  I loved the way it turned out.  I used my Curved Cross Hatching Rulers to mark it.

And here is another one of Barbara's Scrap Quilts.  I love the Orange and Pink.

Here is Suzie Kitsler's Best of Show in the Professional Category.  I can understand why it won!

Judie Fleming made this Beauty.  All hand Quilted.  Best of Show Overall!  Look at that cute Border.

This is the Beautiful Crocheted Bedspread.  So Beautiful!

I loved this Antique Hankie Quilt by Geri Hill.  I have some Hankies and I need to make them into something like this.

And Diane Ruby also got a Best of Show.  Following her BOS at Best of the Valley.

I don't know Donna Wilson.  But she does beautiful Counted Cross Stitch.  And she must have good eyes.  Because that is tiny stuff.

It was a really nice day.  I hope you get to go to the Fair too.

Plan B

My only sister Sharon Gimlin is going to be a Grandma for the first time.  We are all excited because the Baby is a girl.  My sister has 2 Boys and I don't have any children of my own.  So I had found the perfect fabric that I wanted to make a really special quilt for the baby.  But the fabric wasn't going to be available until the end of August.  Well, okay I could wait until then.  But August came and went and still the fabric wasn't available.  The Baby Shower is scheduled for the first weekend in October.  I had to start that quilt!  So, Plan B.  I ordered another Fabric.  And decided to make a simple Quilt and save the other one for Christmas.

I used some Pale Yellow and Pale Pink Minkee with the cute Riley Blake Fabric I ordered.

The back of the Quilt is the Pale Pink Minkee and I did all straight line Quilting with the Walking Foot.

I bought this cute little "PS I Love You" tag years ago.  And I finally had a chance to use it.

I attached the Binding by Machine with a Blanket Stitch.  The front looks great.  But the back, not so much.

And then with the left over fabric I made these really cute Burp Cloths.

I have a pretty good weekend.  And my Baby Gifts are all ready for the shower.  Now on to making Napkins for my Dinner Party I'm having for my Mother's 85th Birthday on Thursday.

Posting again!

I've finally posting again!  I've been busy.  Maybe just too busy to post!

This quilt is made from Recycled Plaid Shirts and Denim Shirts and Skirts.  The pattern is from Nickel Quilts & Borders by Pat Speth.  It's for my Nephew Brian.  I is his Christmas present for this year.  I hope he likes it.

This one is a Table Runner for the Common Threads Boutique in October.  It's from Nickel Quilts by Pat Speth and Charlene Thode.  The pattern is for a quilt and I just made a small version of it as a Table Runner.  I may have to make myself the Quilt.  I really liked they way it turned out.
