Sew Eclectic Christmas

Monday Night was The Sew Eclectic Christmas Party at Pat and Mel Bell's Home.  What a wonder time we had!  Pat and Mel served us the most wonderful Dinner.  Then after Dinner we got to open the Small Quilts we each made.  We have a very talented group.  And it was fun getting to see what everyone made.

Deanne made this Beautiful Flower Arrangement for the table.

Here is Elaine with this beautiful Ruffled Scarf.

Suzie made this beauty.

Beth made this one.

Jeremy created this and had it framed.

Wanda made the Fall Leaf one.

Charlotte's creation.

I did this.  But after seeing what everyone else made, I wish I had put in more effort.  Well, next year.  I'll start early.

Kristin made this sexy one!

Barbara did these.

And this too!  She is known for not finishing things!

This beauty was made by Deanne.

Deolinda made the Hearts.

Sara came up with this piece of art.

Pat made the Christmas Tree.

And Sharon made this with the tiny little pieces.

It was a great party and we all went home happy.  If we didn't, it would have been our own fault!

Beginning Freemotion Feathers

I finished my Feather Sampler.  It's for the Beginning Free motion Feather class I will be teaching at Thimble Towne next year.  I will be teaching from the book Feather Adventures! by Patsy Thompson.  Hopefully I will be teaching Hyperquilting Feathers the following Quarter.

I will also be giving a Trunk Show and teaching this Beginning Free motion Feather class at Nipomo Quilt Guild in April.  I'm looking forward to that too!

This what I've been quilting on today.  Stay tuned!  I hope to have it done this week.  But don't hold me to that. :)

I finally finished this quilt made completely out of scraps.  I started it in a class with Marie Strait.  She was one of the speakers that the Common Threads Quilt Guild had this year.  Barbara Sindlinger gave me the purple for the border.  She said it was from a sheet.  It worked perfectly.  I think I'm going to give this as a gift.  But I really like it.  And it's hard to give it away.  A Quilter always hopes the person you give it to will love it and take of it.  But once you give it away, you don't have any control over that.

Here is another one I finished.  It was made from a Jelly Roll I've had for years!  I finally got it made.  I like it.  But it was really out of Square.  So  I added the borders to help stabilize it.  And they were really hard to make fit.

Here is a closer look.  I'm going to give this one to my Nephew and his wife for Christmas.

Christmas Apron

I've had a nice day today.  After going to Home Depot with my Husband to pick out a Security Door for our Rental, I made a cute Apron.  I went to Thimble Towne on Friday and purchased the Materials at the Black Friday Sale.  I have some other Aprons I hope to get done before Christmas to give as gifts.

I also spent some time quilting on a quilt that I have had pinned for awhile.  Hopefully I will have that one done soon and I can post it.

Christmas Decorating Day at the Van Fossen's

Larry put up the outside lights.  And he did a good job.  Things never go well for him though.  I think he is ready for me to go back to work.  I'm giving him too many Honey Dos!

I have a small Christmas Tree in the Dining Area.

This is the small Christmas Tree I have in the front window.

This is the Coffee Table and Sofa with some Christmas Quilts.

And here are some more Christmas Quilts.

Come by and see us during the holidays.  Iwould love to share my Christmas Spirit with you!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Dinner was at our house this year.  Last year I was not up to having any of the Holiday Dinners.  So this year I stepped up and had Thanksgiving Dinner.  There were only nine of us. And it was such a beautiful day we had it on the Patio.

This my Mother standing and her sister Jackie setting at the table.  Their Brother-In-Law Tom is setting down also.

Larry and his daughter Kim.

And here is me.  I'm still smiling!  After they left I collapsed.

Visalia Dames

Today was the Monthly get together with my small breakout group of the Material Girls.  We are the Visalia Dames.
Barbara Sindlinger made these really cute TicTac Labels.  Witches Warts, Ghost Poop, and Jack o'lantern seeds.  So cute.  She is so creative.
Elaine Berry finished her Antique Linen Quilt.  And yes I said "finished". :) LOL
Barbara worked on her Block of the Year Angel Block.  :) LOL
I worked on quilting my Table Topper.  My thread kept breaking and I finally figured out that I didn't have the Feed Dogs Lowered!  Amazing how well it worked after that. :)  And I'm teaching Machine Quilting! LOL

I didn't get a picture of the Baby Quilt that Diane Mitchell is working on.  It is adorable.

And thanks Diane for hosting the day.  We always have lots of fun and laughs.

Not That Shade of Grey

This is my quilt called "Not that Shade of Grey"  It's made of Grey Burma Silk and Cotton Fabrics.  I used Jenny Haskins Gold Metallic Thread.

Here is a closeup view.

And here is a view of the Trupunto.

Baby Quilts

I have 3 Baby Quilts finished for the Common Threads Quilt Guild's Boutique. The Boutique will be held in October 2012. 2 of the quilts are for Baby Girls and 1 for a Baby Boy. I have 1 more Baby Boy quilt to finish. The Red one is a pattern called Cutie Patootie by Meg Miles and Dodi Poulsen. And it has Red Minkee on the back. The Pink one and the Blue one have Flannel on the back on them. I hope someone will want to buy Baby Quilts at the Boutique. I sure had fun making them.

BOTV 2012

I'm so excited! My Quilt called "Garden Window" was chosen by Suzie Kistler for the "Chairman's Special Merit Award" at the Best of the Valley Quilt Show. This is a wonderful honor. Thank you Susie!

The Best of the Valley Quilt show was Spectacular! There were wonderful Quilts on display. And the Vendors had some really great goods for sale. I purchased a few things myself. My mother went with me and she had a great time too. Afterwards we went to lunch at The Orange Works in Strathmore. The food was wonderful. They make their own Homemade Orange Ice Cream. Yummy!
